Pinkerton C-TPAT

Operation Safe Commerce

Operation Safe Commerce is a $58 million program initiated by the U.S. Government to explore commercially viable options to increase security in international supply chains - from the point of origin to the point of destination. Pinkerton was selected as the project manager for nine Operation Safe Commerce ($28m) for the Ports of Tacoma and Seattle. The project is a test-bed for new security techniques that have the potential to increase the security of container shipments.

"We are proud to have this opportunity to work with Operation Safe Commerce and the Ports of Tacoma and Seattle, helping them identify areas of vulnerability and producing a report that identifies the best policies, practices, procedures and technologies that can form the basis of national and international policy for implementing an effective supply chain security architecture," said Bonni Tischler, formerly Assistant Commissioner to U.S. Customs and now Pinkerton's Vice President of Supply Chain Security.
